About Us

Our Team

Hi! We’re a team of advocates, public health experts, researchers, designers, and engineers who came together to build AbortionFinder.

We’re passionate about all people having easy access to the reproductive health care they need and want, and that includes abortion.

We made AbortionFinder because we saw firsthand that for too many people, the process of figuring out where and how to get an abortion is confusing, complicated, and overwhelming. We want it to be easier.

AbortionFinder is operated by Bedsider, a project of the nonprofit Power to Decide. Bedsider is a digital platform that provides information about birth control, sex, and sexual health–basically everything you need to have a healthy, happy sex life.

What We Offer

AbortionFinder is an easy-to-use search tool built on a database of over 750 verified abortion providers across the country. You can enter your age, the first day of your last period, and your location, and we will give you a list of abortion providers who can help you.

We are committed to making sure that everyone who needs help finding an abortion can access our comprehensive, nationwide database of abortion providers. That’s why AbortionFinder is also available via text message. For service in English, text “Hello” to 435-3-FINDER; for service in Spanish, text “Hola” to 218-3-BUSCAR. Then give us your zip code, and we’ll reply with the three abortion providers closest to you.

Our Approach

We built and continuously work to improve AbortionFinder using an iterative, user-informed approach. We get feedback from our users at every step of the process to identify the needs of people seeking abortions and to ensure that AbortionFinder is meeting those needs. In addition, we regularly consult with members of the abortion care and support community, including patient navigators, for insight into their experiences helping people access care.

Our Partners

AbortionFinder is made possible through partnerships with reproductive and sexual health organizations including the National Abortion Federation (NAF), Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), and Advancing New Standards in Reproductive Health (ANSIRH). It includes independent providers as well as providers affiliated with PPFA, NAF, and the Abortion Care Network (ACN). Many organizations and individuals have kindly lent the project their expertise and advice.
